📜 Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all participants, filmmakers, and attendees engaging with any events conducted by SIFAA , and founded by Nikhil. This includes the SIFAA National Short Film Festival and the SIFAA Masterclasses.
1. General Eligibility
- Films submitted must be completed on or after January 1, 2023.
- Participants of all ages and nationalities are welcome, but entries must be related to Indian language or culture.
- Submissions are accepted from students, amateurs, and professional filmmakers alike.
2. Film Submission Guidelines
- Short films must be under 40 minutes, including credits.
- All genres are welcome – fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, etc.
- Films must be submitted via direct upload or accessible links (e.g., Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo). Ensure public or shareable access.
- Each applicant may submit multiple entries. Each entry requires a separate form and fee.
- All films not in English must have English subtitles.
3. Entry Fees
A non-refundable entry fee must be paid for each submitted film as listed on the submission form. The fee structure may vary based on deadlines (early, regular, late).
4. Selection & Awards
- Only selected films will be eligible for screening and awards.
- Winners in each category will be awarded trophies or medals and certificates during the live event.
- All officially selected participants will receive participation certificates digitally.
- The nominated list will be announced via email and published on our official social media handles.
5. Screening Rights & Promotion
- By submitting a film, participants authorize SIFAA to screen the film at its festival venues and online platforms, if applicable.
- SIFAA reserves the right to use excerpts, stills, posters, and trailers for promotional purposes (non-commercial).
6. Masterclasses Terms
- All Masterclasses are curated sessions with renowned film industry professionals from across India, especially South Indian cinema.
- Registration is mandatory. Slots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Paid sessions are non-refundable unless cancelled by the organizer.
- Attendees will receive digital certificates after completion.
- Names of attending celebrities and experts are subject to availability and scheduling.
7. Code of Conduct
- All attendees and participants are expected to maintain respectful and professional behavior throughout the events.
- SIFAA reserves the right to disqualify or deny access to anyone found violating these terms or engaging in inappropriate conduct.
8. Disclaimers
- SIFAA does not guarantee film distribution or commercial opportunities to any selected filmmaker.
- Decisions of the jury and festival committee are final and not subject to appeal.
- Schedules, venues, or program details are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
9. Intellectual Property
- Filmmakers must own all rights or have permission for copyrighted content used in their film (music, visuals, script, etc.).
- Participants are fully liable for any copyright infringement or legal claims.
